About Me
Hi, I’m Mariah! I’m the ceramic artist behind Tico Makes. My functional work is inspired by the simple things we often overlook: morning coffee, shared meals, or just interacting with someone you love. Through my ceramics, I hope to celebrate resilience, imperfection, and growth.
My pieces are meant to be used, held, and appreciated daily. Everyday objects with stories behind them to help us slow down and bring meaning, comfort, and reflection into each day.
I grew up in a challenging home and always found peace in nature. Hiking, climbing mountains, and just getting outside has become my way of escaping, reflecting, and finding peace. Those experiences shape my work. Many of my textures and surfaces are inspired by natural paths, worn trails, and imperfect lines that reflect the inward journeys we take toward calmer, more grounded places.
